Google’s photo organiser “Picasa”

Google is giving away really superb digital photo management software for very practical slide showing of all your pictures on your computer … they dropped the price tag on the software (previously $29 by original owner) and is now allowing people to download Picasa for free …

Picasa software will not effect nor change your own computer settings, current thumbnail or images’ icons at all. All stays the same way as you know it. It finds and brings into the list “completely all” folders containing a picture-s that were saved on the hard disk making it easy to scroll through them. Program looks for images also in sub-folders deeper on the system, not only in My Documents folders. So, if there were any photos hidden or lost on the computer, or those pictures you forgot you had somewhere, you will bring them out again and notice all photos very easily. Plus you can even sort all items by the date and create photo albums.

(… if you just happen to get the thought “I will download and install it to see whether my brother is hiding some pics” then surely OH YES that will do what you want :) and you can even hide the ‘open program icon’ by simply deleting it from the desk top menu for checking that out again and again or from time to time … so how’s that for the Friday’s party?)

Link below takes you to the Picasa page with info about this program and for the download which takes only a minute.

The Picasa program does make it easy if your intention is to “work efficiently” with all images on your machine or, as for a Sunday’s computer user to have pictures nicely organised. When compared with the ordinary Window’s thing that isn’t nowhere close. Especially when there are hundreds and thousands of photos and other images, graphics, in folders I navigate between with ease.
